Trickle Charging
When the battery voltage is below 3.0V, the module enters trickle-charge mode and charges the battery at 100mA.
Constant-Current Charging
Once the battery voltage rises above 3.0V, the charger switches to constant-current mode and charges at the configured current.
The default charging current is 3A.
Constant-Voltage Charging
As the battery approaches 4.2V and the charging current falls below 300mA, the charger enters constant-voltage mode.
During this stage, the module periodically checks the battery voltage. If the battery voltage is above approximately 4.15V, charging stops. If the voltage remains below this level, charging continues, and the battery is checked again.
Automatic Recharge
After charging is complete, the module continues monitoring the battery. If the battery voltage drops below approximately 4.1V, charging automatically begins again.
LED Indicators
-
Red LED: Charging/working
-
Blue LED: Fully charged
Charging Current Adjustment
The module is configured for 3A charging by default.
The charging current can be changed by modifying the current-setting resistor:
-
3A: Default
-
2A: Remove the current-setting resistor
-
1A: Replace the current-setting resistor with a 135kΩ resistor
Important
This charger is designed for one 3.7V nominal lithium-ion or lithium-polymer cell with a 4.2V maximum charging voltage.
For safe operation, ensure the battery is rated to accept the selected charging current. A battery with a maximum charge current below 3A should have the module configured to a lower charging current before use.
